With this measuring method, a fever is indicated if the temperature is above 38.0 °C (100.4 °F). The red LED 6 is a warning. Please take several measurements at intervals of 0.5 to 1 hour in order to follow the progression of the temperature. The values you measure will help your doctor make a diagnosis. Do not use the temperature under extreme temperature conditions and / or outdoors. This will result in inaccurate measuring results. In the condition as supplied to the customer the sleep mode is activated, as shown by the symbol, and the LC display 5 is completely switched off. When the sleep mode is deactivated, the device remains switched on, while the time and room temperature are still shown and updated once a minute.
