Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the sports headphones to any future owners. Copyright This documentation is copyright protected. Any duplication and/or reprinting, entirely or partially, as well as reproduction of illustrations, also in modified form, is only permitted with written consent from the manufacturer. Limited liability The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe the instructions, improper use, inappropriate repairs, making unauthorized changes or for using unapproved replacement parts. 2 SSK 120 B2 Warnings In the current operating instructions the following warnings are used: WARNING A Warning of this danger level signifies a possible dangerous situation. If the dangerous situation is not avoided it can lead to injuries. The directives in this warning are there to avoid personal injuries. IMPORTANT A Warning of this danger level signifies possible property damage. If the situation is not avoided it can lead to property damage. The directives in this warning are there to avoid property damage. NOTE A notice signifies additional information that assists in the handling of the device. GB CY SSK 120 B2 3 GB CY Proper use Use of these sports headphones is intended for the non-commercial listening of audio material. Any other or unintended use is regarded as improper use and can lead to damages. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. Safety instructions For safe handling of the device observe the following safety information: Before use check the sports headphones for visible external damage. Do not operate damaged or dropped sports headphones. Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by authorized qualified personnel or by the customer service department. Persons who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities, are incapable of operating the sports headphones safely must only use them under the supervision or direction of a responsible person. Only permit children to use the sports headphones under supervision. 4 SSK 120 B2 Repairs to the sports headphones should only be carried out by authorized specialist personnel or by the customer service department. Incorrect repairs can result in danger for the user. In addition warranty claims become void. A repair to the sports headphones, during the warranty period, may only be carried out by a customer service department authorized by the manufacturer otherwise no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages. Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts. Only by using original replacement parts can you guarantee that the safety requirements are complied with. Do not undertake any unauthorised reconstruction or modifications to the sports headphones. Protect the sports headphones from moisture and liquid penetration. Do not use the sports headphones in the vicinity of open flames. GB CY SSK 120 B2 5 GB CY Danger of hearing damage WARNING Danger as a result of extreme sound levels! Loud music can lead to hearing damage. Avoid extreme sound levels, especially over long periods of time, when you are using these sports headphones. Accident hazard WARNING Danger through impaired perception! Acoustical warning and indication signals and environmental noises can sound different when you are wearing these sports headphones. Make yourself aware of how these signals deviate in their sound so that you can recognise the signals in the corresponding situations. Do not use the sports headphones when operating an automobile, bicycle or in any other situation in which environmental sound impaired perception could present a danger to yourself or others. 6 SSK 120 B2 Initial use WARNING Pakaging materials may not be used as playthings. There is a risk of suffocation! GB CY Package contents (see fold out sides) The sports headphones are delivered with the following components as standard: Sports headphones 1 with pre-installed ear cushions (medium size 2) 2 Pair of ear cushions (small 3 and large 4) These operating instructions (not depicted) NOTE Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage. If the contents are not complete or are damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the service hotline (see chapter "Warranty and service"). Disposal of the packaging The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed according to regionally established regulations. SSK 120 B2 7 GB CY Operation Exchanging the ear cushions When delivered the sports headphones 1 are provided with medium size ear cushions 2. Depending on the size of your ear cup you can use ear cushions (3 or 4) of another size from those supplied. With your fingers carefully pull on the ear cushions 2 to detatch them from the sports 1. Select from the supplied ear cushions (3 or 4) ones that are suitable for your use. Push these directly onto the ear clips 1 until they slip into the recesses on the ear clips 1. Putting on the sports headphones When putting the sports headphones 1 on observe the indicators "R" (right) and "L" (left) on the side of the earpieces. Slide the clip of the sports headphones 1 behind your ears and adjust the flexible clip to your ear shape. Press the ear cushion (2, 3 or 4) lightly onto your ear. Proceed in the same way to put on the other sports 1. 8 SSK 120 B2 Connecting the sports headphones The sports headphones 1 are equipped with a 3.5 mm jackplug. Many consumer electronic devices are provided with a corresponding headphones socket. In the event that your audio device has been provided with a different connection for headphones you can use, if necessary, a suitable adapter (not supplied). GB CY Troubleshooting Malfunction causes and remedies The following table will help with localizing and remedying minor malfunctions: Defect Cause/Remedy The volume control of the playback device is set to minimum volume. Increase the playback volume. The 3.5 mm jackplug is not fully inserted into the playback device's headphones socket. Plug the 3.5 mm jackplug fully into the socket. The Stereo-Balance-Control on the playback device is incorrectly adjusted. Adjust it to the setting you desire. No sound is coming from the sports headphones 1. Sound is only coming from one side of the sports headphones 1. SSK 120 B2 9 GB CY NOTE If the malfunction can not be remedied with the described solution proposals or if other types of malfunctions occur please contact our service department (see warranty and service). Cleaning IMPORTANT Do not allow any liquids to penetrate inside the sports headphones 1. This can lead to irreparable damage to them. Clean the sports headphones 1 with a slightly damp cloth. Remove the ear cushions (2, 3 or 4) for cleaning. Clean the ear cushions under running water. Dry the ear cushions well. Replace the ear cushions over the ear clips 1 only after they have completely dried. Storage Store the ear clip 1 headphones in a dry environment. 10 SSK 120 B2 Disposal Under no circumstances should you throw the device into the normal household waste. This product is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC. Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
